The Government Institute of Medical Sciences (GIMS), Greater Noida (an autonomous institute under the Govt. of U.P.) has released an official notification for the direct recruitment of Staff Nurse posts through a Computer Based Test (CBT) Examination-2026. Important Details Selection On Non Teaching Posts (Staff Nurse)

GIMS Staff Nurse Vacancy Details 

Horizontal Reservation

.Educational Qualification:

(i) B.Sc Nursing (4 years course) from an Indian Nursing Council / State Medical Faculty recognized Institute or University or B.Sc. Nursing (Post Basic) (2 Years Course) from an Indian Nursing Council recognized institute/university.
(ii) Registered as Nurse & Midwife in State/Indian Nursing Council
OR
(i) Diploma in General Nursing Midwifery (G.N.M) from an Indian Nursing Council recognized Institute/ Board or Council
(ii) Registered as Nurse & Midwife in State/ Indian Nursing Council.
(iii) Two Years experience in a minimum 50 bedded hospital after acquiring the educational qualification mentioned above.

Relaxation in Age Limit:

1) The decisive date of age calculation for recruitment to al the posts mentioned in the above table is 1st July. Candidate has to have attained the age of 21 years and should not be more than 40 years age.
2) For SC, ST, and OBC candidates of Uttar Pradesh, a maximum relaxation up to a period of 05 years will be permissible as per the relevant government orders of the U.P. Government.
3) In the case of permanent employees of the U.P. Government who have rendered at least 03 years of regular and continuous service in the relevant field, a relaxation of up to a maximum of 05 years can be given as per GOs of
Govt. of UP, Karmik Anubhag. 4 Ref No- 2-E.M./2001-Ka-42013 dated 27.08.2013.
4) Persons dismissed by the Union Government or any State Government will not be eligible for appointment to any post in the service.
5) As per Government Order No. 18/1/2008(II)/ka-2 dated 03 February 2008, a relaxation of 15 years in the maximum age limit will be permissible to persons with disabilities.
o6) For ex-servicemen, a relaxation of 03 years in the maximum age limit will be permissible with the condition that after deducting their total service period from their actual age, the resulting remaining age should not be more than 03
years over the prescribed age. It is mandatory to be discharged from the Army by the last date of application. However, he should have rendered satisfactory approved military service in any wing of army, navy or air forces and he should be otherwise eligible for the post.

GIMS Staff Nurse Selection Process

The selection process includes:

1) Computer Based Test (CBT)
2) Merit based on CBT
3) Biometric and document verification
4) Medical examination

The CBT will consist of objective-type questions related to nursing. According to the notification, 80% of the questions will assess theoretical knowledge and 20% will assess practical knowledge.

Negative Marking

Candidates should be particularly careful while attempting questions because the CBT includes negative marking.
